General Intercessions

Fifteenth Sunday of Ordered Time

July 13, 2025

Presider:   How difficult it is to care for those who we hate or who hate us. Yet that is the message of the Lord in his parable about the Samaritan who cares for the man robbed, beaten, and lying is the ditch at the side of the road. In our prayers let us focus on love for others.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, Hear our prayer”

1. That Pope we pray...... is guided by the Spirit in his work to unify the Church and that he is successful in developing cooperation among all faith traditions, we pray...

2. That Bishop _________ and all clergy and religious apply their energies to implementing the teachings of Vatican II, modeling and teaching love and respect for all they serve, we pray...

3. That our parish accept and care for people on the margins of society and those abused and suffering from violence, we pray...

4. That diplomats and leaders of nations conduct their work with other nations with courtesy, integrity, seeking the common good of all, we pray...

5. That mothers and fathers of our nation demonstrate to their families a love of truth, a commitment to equal justice, and compassion toward the suffering, we pray...

6. That professional health and mental providers, first responders, and those responsible for security and peace be moved to compassion for those they serve, we pray...

7. That our military upholds the constitution in all their work and are safe in their support of our nation, we pray...

8. That those who died this week (list here), and those approaching death’s door are encouraged by faith and sacrament. That the intention of this Mass, (list)                            is (are) remembered in our prayers, we pray...

9. Let us petition God for our personal needs and concerns: (pause) May we us place these intentions on the altar with the financial gifts we offer for the ministries of our community, we pray...

Presider: Father, look upon us your people as we suffer in a world torn with conflict and hatred. Our hearts are heavy as we witness deaths in war. Help us look to you in solving problems of greed and violence. Enlighten our leadership to root out corruption in our governance. Inspire each of us to love our neighbor whether near or across oceans. We ask this in the Name of your Son and our brother, Jesus Christ who lives with you in the Unity of the Holy Spirit now and forever.

Response: Amen.
